THE INVITATION

Aotearoa Convener Ray Totorewa

Tēnā koutou e ngā rangatira mā! Greetings to you all in the powerful name of Ihu Karaiti Jesus Christ.

We trust all is well with you. Following on from ideas, thoughts, and a more recent discussion in Chiang Mai at the International Leaders Gathering last year, we have landed on the idea that it's time to get together aye….at our whare.

So this is a call from the land of Aotearoa NZ to our YWAM family in Australia and the Pacific to gather together here in Aotearoa. Kia hiwa rā kia hiwa rā kia tū kia oho kia mataara!

Our mind goes back to Melbourne in 1993 where we gathered during the winter months as YWAM Australia & NZ, then again in NSW at the Proclaim gathering in 2007, not to mention our hui in Turkey in 2015.

It’s my honour to release a call from the Land of the Long White Cloud to the Land of the Red Dust to gather together in Tauranga, November 17-22nd 2024. All staff and students are welcome. The gathering will be followed by The Send on Saturday the 23rd. More details to follow.

We also see the land in between our two nations and the many villages that are scattered across her. A land from where we also come from, that being the great ocean of the Pacific. This call ripples across to the islands to our tuakana, our elder brothers and sisters to come also.

gather with the whānau

We are so excited for you all to join us in Tauranga, New Zealand for the Oceania Hui 2024. The call has gone out and staff and students from across the region will be gathering from the 17th-22nd of November, in the heart of the city followed by The Send New Zealand on November 23rd.

As we have been preparing and praying into our time together, we have such a sense of excitement and expectation. We know in YWAM that as we gather together to meet, its always significant. This will be the first time in 17 years that we have come together across the region. The Anzac and Pacific story in YWAM is very rich and we believe the best is yet to come.

We can expect powerful times of worship and encounter, times of equipping and empowerment, and of course vision, food and fellowship. We also have the privilege of Hosting Darlene Cunningham with us, and we will be including the Loren Cunningham Legacy tour as part of the Oceania Hui.

Get registered, book your tickets, and get ready….it’s going to be incredible.

Josh Cole, on behalf of the Oceania Hui Convening team.

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATIONS

Tauranga has its own airport, Tauranga Domestic Airport, which is just a short distance from the city centre. There are flights to Tauranga from major cities in New Zealand like Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.

If you prefer road travel, Tauranga is well-connected to the rest of the country through a network of highways. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to drive from Auckland.

Additionally, you can opt for bus or coach transportation from other major cities in New Zealand.
